In early 2022, as the world grappled with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mater Dei Hospital launched a bold vision the Integrated Hospital Health Care Project. Officially blessed and broken ground by Archbishop Alex Thomas on 11th January 2022, the project set out to revolutionize patient care by consolidating essential services within a single, accessible location.
Now fully constructed the development, known as the Mater Dei Hospital New Complex, marks a major milestone in healthcare delivery.
Designed as a “one-stop-shop,” the facility eliminates the traditional fragmented patient journey. No longer will patients need to travel between clinics, labs, and specialist offices; now, all services are housed under one roof.
Key Facilities Include:
- 15-bed Kidney Dialysis Unit
- Dental and Ophthalmic Clinics (with dedicated operating theatres)
- Day Theatre and Ultrasonography Unit
- Primary wellness, Ante- and Post-natal care services
- 16 Consultation Suites for Specialists
- Retail Pharmacy, Optician outlet, and Coffee Shop
This integrated model fosters efficiency, improves collaboration among healthcare providers, and puts the patient at the centre of care. Once operational, the complex will significantly enhance access, continuity, and quality of services for the community.
